We are a family owned and operated business providing quality paint and supplies to the Long Island area for more than 85 years. Aboff’s is New York and Long Island’s color expert, with 33 Long Island locations employing a total of one hundred and sixty-five employees, and is proud to be the largest independent dealer of Benjamin Moore Paint in the United States. We supply Long Island and New York contractors and homeowners with quality paint, accessories and supplies.

Mangers/Assistant Managers/Managers in Training

Do you enjoy working with great, friendly people?  Then come join our Management Team at Aboff’s Paints.  We have been a family owned and operated business for over 90 years, entrusted by our customers to provide them with superior products and service.  Our expansion plans have created a need to increase our management team and we are looking for experienced store managers, assistant managers, and management trainees to join our team.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership ability
  • Willingness and ability to learn new things
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to be a team player
  • The ability to take direction, and in turn, give direction to staff
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Solid computer skills with Point of Sale systems experience
  • Ability to understand the concepts of margin, invoices and purchase orders, inventory management, and store accounting procedures
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Minimum 2 years college or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to perform repeated physical tasks such as bending, lifting and standing for long periods. Must be able to lift at least 65lbs
  • Usually required to work 49 hours per week including one day on the weekend.

Preferred:

  1. Retail Experience
  2. Experience dealing with Contractors
  3. Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish
  4. Experience in the Hardware/Paint/Building Materials sector
  5. Merchandising Skills

Compensation/Benefits

  1. $50K - $65K annual starting compensation depending on experience, skill set, and offered position with room for financial advancement over time.

    Full-Time Sales Associates

    Sales Associate responsibilities:

    • Help customers make the right choice of product
    • Tint paint to desired color
    • Process sales through POS system
    • Load and unload company vans/trucks

    Qualifications:

    • Good people/customer service skills
    • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SATURDAY
    • Some computer knowledge
    • Ability to lift 65 lbs and be on your feet for a good part of the work day
    • Retail experience preferred
    • Paint experience a plus BUT WILL TRAIN
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
